A Life Still: CALL FOR ENTRIES


All collegiate students are invited to submit works of art addressing the theme, A Life, Still, for inclusion in a juried exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
This will coincide with the Visual Feast: Masterpieces of Still Life from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston exhibition running from October 21, 2012 through January 13, 2013.

Submit for consideration: original works of art less than 2" deep, ready to hang. All media are welcome and encouraged.

Digital Entries will be accepted through August 31, 2012. A complete prospectus is available at: http://alifestill.tumblr.com/submit.


No entry fee is required!


All works for consideration must be original and express the concept of still life whether in a realistic, abstract, or symbolic style. Works of art will be juried based upon originality, craftsmanship, and personal expression of the artist. 

Please read the specific details about entering and delivering 2-D work or videosbefore submitting work to A Life, Still. To submit a 2-D image, click on “Submit an Image” in the drop down menu below upload a jpeg from your computer. To submit a video, you will first need to upload the video to a video host such asVimeoYoutube, or Kaltura. Then, use the drop-down menu below and click “Submit a Video” to embed the code from your video host.
Copy and paste the following information as the caption to be sure the entry is complete. Please include:
  • Artist name
  • Title of work
  • E-mail address (will not be published)
  • Phone number (will not be published)
  • College
  • Date
  • Medium (Oil Paint, Charcoal, etc.)
  • Framed dimensions for 2-D art (videos do not need dimensions)
  • Artist statement about the piece. See FAQ for tips about what to include.
  • Short bio about the artist
Incomplete entries will not be accepted.
Agreement
Submission of images or videos constitutes an agreement between the artist and the North Carolina Museum of Art for the work to be on display for the duration of the show. Submitting work gives permission to have this work, along with student’s name and college, published on the NCMA’s Web site and in media coverage should the work be selected for the A Life, Still exhibition. If accepted into the exhibition, you agree to ship or deliver the work to the Museum by September 22. Unless a higher resolution version of a particular video is needed, videos will not need to be delivered and will be streamed from the online source.
By submitting your work, you declare to the NCMA that the image or video was created by you and is your own original work that will not infringe the copyright or any other rights of a third party.
