As part of NURTUREart’s Education Program, Project: Curate is a group of student-curators from Juan Morel Campos who organize an exhibition every year with guidance from an independent curator. This year their mentor is Christina Vassallo, Executive Director of Flux Factory. Project: Curate is accepting submissions for their upcoming exhibition at NURTUREart Gallery, on view June 8-29, 2012.
‘Together we have been discussing what makes every day experiences extraordinary and entertaining. We are particularly interested in the effects of making unexpected combinations. Possible outcomes include the humor, horror and abstractions that result from unusual pairings.’
The Project: Curate team invites proposals by artists who have made or would like to make work about juxtapositions and unintended interpretations. Artists working in all media are encouraged to apply.
