SPRING 2013 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S CALL FOR ENTRY
PWP invites women photographers working in all mediums, processes, styles, and schools of thought to our spring 2013 Call for Entry. JULIE SAUL, owner and director of the Julie Saul Gallery in Manhattan will award $5,000 in cash, a one-year online exhibition, plus an article in IMPRINTS Magazine, and valuable prizes from Datacolor, global leader in color calibration technology.

CATEGORIES:
Winners will be selected in each of the following four categories:
• People
• Places
• Fine Art
• Digital Imagination (Composites, Abstracts, etc.)
EXHIBITION AND AWARDS:
- Grand Prize: One photographer will receive $1,000, plus a Datacolor Spyder4PRO color calibration system and SpyderCube raw calibration tool ($225 value.) Her image and interview will be featured in the Summer 2013 issue of IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online gallery.
- First Prizes: 4 photographers (one in each category) will receive
- $500, plus a Datacolor SpyderCHECKR PRO camera calibration system ($139 value.)
- Their selected images will appear in the Summer 2013 issue of IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online gallery.
- Second Prizes: 4 photographers (one in each category) will receive $300. Their selected images will appear in the Summer 2013 issue of IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online gallery and in the exhibition catalog.
- Third Prizes: 4 photographers (one in each category) will receive $200. Their selected images will appear in the Summer 2013 issue of IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online gallery.
Jurors’ Selections: These 20 images will appear in the Summer 2013 issue of IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online gallery.
Honorable Mention: 60 additional images will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online gallery. Honorable Mention image titles and photographers will be listed in IMPRINTS Magazine.
ELIGIBILITY:
This Call for Entries is open worldwide to ALL WOMEN
PHOTOGRAPHERS; NON-MEMBERS AND MEMBERS OF PWP, AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL. PWP invites women photographers working in all mediums, styles, and schools of thought to participate. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome.
ENTRY FEE:
The entry fee is $35 for the first three images. Additional images may be submitted for $10 each. The same image may be submitted to more than one category, however, if the same image is submitted to a second category, it counts as an additional submission.
Note: Images selected by jurors for exhibition by PWP in previous international calls for entry are not eligible. Images previously submitted but not yet selected for exhibition may be resubmitted as often as you wish.
JUROR:
Julie Saul has owned and directed the Julie Saul Gallery since 1992, representing artists from all generations working in contemporary photographic based art, from traditional to avant-garde. In addition to its roster of photographers who have been with the gallery since the beginning, Julie Saul Gallery regularly premiers emerging artists from all over the world.
Julie has curated several thematic shows that have traveled to museums, including John Cocteau: The Mirror and the Mask, Constructing Images: Synapse Between Photography and Sculpture, Shooting the Moon: A Survey of Moon Photographs from the Invention of Photography to the Present, Skin/Deep: A Survey of Interior Imaging from X-Ray to MRI and more recently When Color was New: Vintage Photographs from Around the 1970s.

HOW TO ENTER:

3. Pay your entry fee. Payments are made online by credit card.
4. Upload your images to the categories you select.
After payment, you can upload, delete, or edit images at any time until the competition closes. Note that if you wish to submit an image to more than one category, you must submit separately to each category; if you wish to change the category to which an image was submitted, you must delete the first submission and re-submit to the new category.
IMAGE PREPARATION:
Prepare your images as required before beginning the submission
process. Submissions are only accepted via the online process.
Submissions as email attachments, on CD, or prints are not allowed in this competition and will not be returned. Digital image files must meet the following specifications: 8 bit JPEG files (CMYK and 16 bit files will not be uploaded), the longest dimension should be 1280 pixels (width or height), 72 ppi, JPG compression quality of 7 or 8. Images will be viewed as RGB images; therefore Adobe RGB or sRGB profiles should be used. File names should start with your last name, then your first initial, and then the name of the file. Example: Smith_J_Sunset.jpg. File name should contain a maximum of 25 characters, not counting .jpg. The file name may not include characters such as #, $, &, periods or other similar characters as part of the file, There will be only one period in the file name, just prior to .jpg extension. It's important to follow these instructions to allow the right storage into the image database. Image title may not exceed 40 characters. Please note that image title is the name of the artwork, not the file name.

The images submitted are your own work and that there is no copyright infringement. PWP will not be held liable for any infringement of rights that might surface during the jurying or displaying of any image.
A professional curator and photography editor PWP member can provide a preliminary list of images to Julie Saul to select the cash award winners, juror’s selection and honorable mention images. When the jury process is complete, you will be notified by email in accordance with the contact information provided in your submission. Should your award notification or prize be returned as undeliverable, PWP will not resend the notice (whether by the same or another method), research your address nor make any further attempts at delivery, and your submission will be deemed ineligible.
Use Rights: All artists maintain copyright on their images. If your image is selected for an award, you grant PWP the right to use that image for the purpose of marketing PWP calls for entry, online exhibitions, printed catalogs, or other PWP programs without further contact or compensation from PWP. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use and artists maintain the copyright on all images.
