Collecting Conversations: a Panel Discussion Exploring the Development of the SC State Art Collection
The Lee Gallery is hosting a panel discussion in conjunction with Contemporary Conversations on view in the Lee Gallery until February 6. The panel discussion is scheduled for Monday, January 28th from 6:00 – 7:00 in Room 100.
The panel discussion will explore the development of the SC State Art Collection, starting with how it was formed & funded, how purchasing decisions are made and how the collection is utilized as a resource for the state. This panel discussion is designed to give the audience a view into the workings of a state organization that collects art and how individuals working in those organizations have advanced to other positions in the art world and how their experiences at the SC Arts Commission have contributed to their career development.

Former Visual Artist Development Director, SC Arts Commission
Currently an independent consultant, owner Bigginbotham Museum and Director of the Institute for Venture Philanthropy at Higginbotham Museum in Tazewell Virginia.
