MacArthur Fellow and Columbia University School of the Arts faculty member Sarah Sze will discuss her practice of creating intricate and immersive site-specific environments. Since the late 1990s Sze's signature sculptural aesthetic has presented ephemeral installations in some of the world’s most celebrated galleries and museums in addition to humble domestic interiors and even street corners.

Sze lives and works in New York. She has exhibited internationally, presenting her work at MUDAM Luxembourg (2011), BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (2009) Liverpool Biennial (2008), Maison Hermés, Tokyo (2008), Malmö Konsthall, Sweden (2006), Whitney Museum, New York (2003), Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2002) and Fondation Cartier in Paris (1999). Sze was recently awarded the prestigious honor of representing the United States in 2013 at the American Pavilion during the 55th Venice Biennale. Her permanent installations include work for the High Line, NYC, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Seattle Opera House.
