Purchase Award: The work selected for the Purchase Award will become part of the Arts Center’s Permanent Collection. Any artist not willing to accept the $1,200 award must submit a written statement to declare their work not eligible for this award. This statement must be submitted at the time of entry. Works not for sale will be ineligible for the award.
Media: Open to all media except installations.
Eligibility: Open to all U.S. artists 18 years of age or older. Work must be original and executed within the past three years. Work must not have been previously exhibited at the Arts Center. Entry in this exhibit establishes an agreement on the part of the artist to all conditions listed in the prospectus.
Entry Fee: Each artist may submit digital images of a maximum of four works. Two additional detail shots of each work is permissible. A non-refundable entry fee of $25 must accompany the entry form and images.
JUROR:
Dan Early is one of the co-founders and the creative director of Artsee Magazine - a visual arts magazine that covers art related news and events in North and South Carolina. He is also the president and co-owner of Early Design Group, a 12 year old advertising and design firm based in Raleigh, NC. In the 90s he was a creative director at Raleigh’s 2nd largest advertising agency, Rocket Burkhead and Winslow. While his career has always been centered around graphic design, his love for painting has remained a constant outlet for his artistic expression. Dan attended East Carolina University where he majored in Communications Art and Illustration.
