Sheffield Wood Gallery presents Selected Works by Valerie Zimany, Clemson University Associate Professor of Art

The Sheffield Wood Gallery presents Selected Works by Valerie Zimany beginning February 10 and ending March 24, 2017.

Reception and Artist Talk: Thursday, March 9, 2017 (6 - 7 pm)

Valerie Zimany is an Associate Professor of Art, Ceramics, at Clemson University.  After receiving her MFA at Kanazawa College of Art and her BFA from University of the Arts, Philadelphia, she was awarded a three-year residency at Utatsuyama Craft Workshop in Kanazawa, Japan.  While there, she researched contemporary craft and Kutani overglaze enamels which heavily influences her work today.  The works displayed in the current exhibition examine the complex relationships between East and West, nature and technology, and intimate and public worlds through Zimany’s own contemporary lens.

The Sheffield Wood Gallery is open weekdays from 8-3:20pm and by appointment.  Please contact Gallery Coordinator, Rebecca Roth, by email (roroth@greenvilleschools.us) or by leaving a message with the Front Office at the Fine Arts Center (864-355-2550).
