CALL FOR ENTRIES: Beyond Printmaking 4, 2015 National Juried Exhibition

Beyond Printmaking 4:
2015 National Juried Exhibition
JANUARY 17 – FEBRUARY 22, 2015 | SUBMISSIONS DUE: OCTOBER 3, 2014

Beyond Printmaking is an art competition and exhibition organized by the Printmaking Area and Landmark Arts at Texas Tech School of Art.
Historically, printmaking has been considered not only as a visual means through multiples, but also as a pioneer of technology and new meanings. As technology changes ever more rapidly, many contemporary artists who originally started with printmaking as their primary medium are using interdisciplinary approaches to embrace the needs of our time.
As much as printmaking has been loved for its traditional resonance, its versatility applied in multimedia sees no limitations. In this 4th exhibition, we are looking for artists who have a vision of printmaking beyond the traditional practices, who push the technological and conceptual limits of what is considered printmaking.
AWARDS: $2500 in cash prizes to be awarded by the Juror at his discretion.
JUROR: Kevin Haas is currently a Professor at Washington State University where he coordinates the Printmaking Area. He earned his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from Indiana University where he studied printmaking and digital media. Since 1995 his work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across the US and in Canada. He has been included in exhibits at OHGE Ltd. and Davidson Galleries in Seattle, the Jundt Museum in Spokane and Deluge Contemporary Art in Victoria, BC. His work is found in diverse collections from New York at The Equitable Building to Seattle at the Seattle City Light Portable Works Collection. He is a recipient of the Artist Trust Fellowship and the Seattle Print Arts: Larry Sommers Fellowship, and was an artist in residence at the Frans Masereel Center in Belgium in 2010 and 2012.
