Danilo Gonzalez, began his first artist community in Paris, France during the 1990s.  Moving to the Dominican Republic, he then created The Art Space Gallery and established it as one of the most active and important art spaces in the DR for over ten years.  Gonzalez opened The Art Place in Burlington Vermont in 2004 and relocated it to Miami in 2007 to be part of the art movement initiated by Art Basel and a few entrepreneurs like Tony Goldman and artist and art dealers such as Fred Snitzer, Alejandra Von Hart among others.  This move allowed Gonzalez to become a critical part of the Wynwood Art District's transformation.

Today, Danilo Gonzalez has developed The Art Place Wynwood as a Contemporary Art Gallery and as an artist in residence program with artists Giles Neale, Alberto Haubold, David Tupper, Molly Bo, Emilio Adan Martinez.  The Art Place Wynwood has produced numerous projects including Two Expressionists, Miami Mix, Visual Dialogues, and Miami Salsa II.  Our artist portfolio includes high caliber artists such as Horst Kohlem, Carol Fryd, Sara Roitman, Deborah Gregg, Ada Balcacer, Debra Yates, and Lauren Fogg.  With the creation of the Project Room, Gonzalez has brought even more great talents such as Delia Solari, Marcela Garcia Bonini, and Maria Pflucker to the Wynwood Art District. The gallery has also participated in Arte Americas, Art Palm Beach, Chicago Art Fair, and the Naples Art Fair. Since The Art Place Wynwood arrived to Miami four years ago it has been heralded as one of the most active galleries in Wynwood.
