Krylon Clear Choice Art Scholarship Application Information

Today’s art students are tomorrow’s fine artists. Krylon Products Group is proud to invest in the future of art by awarding scholarships to help promising art students with rising tuition costs.

Krylon Products Group Clear Choice Art Scholarships are available to high school seniors (graduating before July 1, 2012) and college freshmen and sophomore students in the U.S. and Canada. Students must be enrolled or accepted and seeking a degree at a U.S. or Canadian university, college or art school as a declared major in a visual arts program such as painting, drawing, sketching (excluding graphic design, fashion design, interior design, film, music or the performing arts).

Canadian students must be attending a designated educational institution while enrolled or accepted into a qualifying educational program. Employees of The Sherwin-Williams Company and related companies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. Scholarship checks are sent directly to the university, college or art school, where the student will study, to be used for qualifying tuition expenses (tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment) required by the educational institution. Distribution will not be made directly to scholarship recipients.

The scholarship submission consists of a completed application form (attached), portfolio on CD, portfolio images printout, artist’s statement, letter of recommendation and transcript(s).

PORTFOLIO
The portfolio should include 3 – 6 images of artwork on CD, as well as a thumbnail or full-sized printout of images. Portfolios will be accepted on CD only – DO NOT submit originals as they will not be accepted. All artwork should be labeled with artist’s name, title of artwork, media, dimensions, and year completed either in the image file name or in a separate Word document on the CD. Portfolio artwork may include drawings, paintings, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, and other studio artwork (excluding graphic design, digital artwork, photography, film, interior design, etc.). No graffiti submissions will be accepted.

These electronic submissions cannot be returned. By submitting these examples of your work, you are granting Krylon Products Group the right to use and publish these submissions, with attribution to the artist, for the promotion of their scholarship program in any media without further payment or consideration. All work must be your original work without any assistance from a third party and has not been previously published or produced. Your acceptance of this provision is considered granted by signing and submitting your scholarship application form and samples of work.
