1708 Non-profit Gallery, Richmond, VA Accepting Proposals for the 2013-2014 Season


1708 Gallery's annual exhibition season runs from September through August and consists
of up to 8 exhibitions featuring national and international emerging and established artists. Current students are not eligible. Each exhibition is approximately 6 weeks long. Artists working in all mediums including, but not limited to, video and film, new media, installation, painting and social practices, and curators may submit exhibition proposals to 1708 Gallery. Proposed work must have been created within the last three years.

Submissions are reviewed by 1708 Gallery's Exhibition Committee, which includes professional artists from 1708 Gallery's Board of Directors. Selected artists/curators will receive an exhibition
(approximately 6 weeks long) at 1708 Gallery and a $300 honorarium. Pending funding, this
amount may increase.

Artists/curators are responsible for delivering, shipping, installing, and deinstalling their work and all related costs. 1708 Gallery will provide assistance with installation and deinstallation. Exhibiting artists/curators are encouraged to attend the exhibition opening and participate in a gallery talk.

All proposals must be submitted using the online form. 1708 will be accepting proposals for the 2013-2014 season from June 15 to September 15, 2012.
